I am a dedicated and patient tutor with a Master’s degree in Elective English from Rabindra Bharati University and 2 years of experience as a home tutor. I am comfortable teaching students from Classes 1 to 8 in subjects such as English, Hindi, Bengali, Science, Social Science, Geography and History. My teaching approach is simple, friendly and student-focused. I believe that every child learns differently, so I first try to understand the student's current level, strengths, difficulties and learning style. I then plan lessons according to the child's individual needs rather than following the same method for every student. For younger students, I focus on making lessons interesting and easy to understand through simple explanations, examples, conversations, activities, questions and regular revision. I encourage children to ask questions freely so that they can learn without hesitation or fear of making mistakes. For English, I work on grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, comprehension and communication skills. I explain grammar rules in an easy way and give practical examples and exercises so that students can apply what they learn. For Hindi and Bengali, I focus on reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and clear understanding of the lessons. I can also explain difficult concepts in a language the child is more comfortable with, while gradually helping them become more confident in the subject. For Science, I focus on understanding concepts instead of simply memorising answers. I use everyday examples and simple explanations to make topics easier to understand and remember. For History, Geography and Social Science, I help students understand the topic as a story or connected concept. I use timelines, important points, examples, maps and question-answer practice wherever appropriate. This helps students remember information more naturally and answer questions confidently. I also believe that regular revision and practice are essential. After completing a topic, I ask questions and give short exercises to check whether the student has understood it properly. I identify areas where the student needs more support and spend additional time strengthening those concepts. My classes are designed to maintain a balance between learning and engagement. I do not want students to feel that studying is a burden. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where children can express their doubts, participate actively and gradually become independent learners. I can also support students with school assignments, homework, exam preparation, revision and improving their overall academic confidence. I maintain patience even when a student needs a concept explained multiple times, because I believe that understanding is more important than simply completing a lesson quickly. As a tutor, my primary goals are: • To build strong basic concepts. • To make difficult topics simple and understandable. • To improve reading, writing and communication skills. • To encourage students to ask questions and participate. • To provide regular practice and revision. • To identify and work on individual weaknesses. • To help students become more confident and independent in their studies. • To create a positive and comfortable learning environment. I would be happy to work closely with parents and keep them informed about the student's progress, areas requiring improvement and topics covered during lessons. I believe that good communication between the tutor, student and family can make the learning process much more effective. My aim is not only to help students score better marks but also to develop a genuine understanding of their subjects, confidence in learning and a positive attitude towards education.
